Warehouse Control Integration and Architecture
Warehouse Control Software Integration and Architecture
Implementing a material handling system as part of a supply chain strategy may involve many automation technologies to meet business objectives. In order to realize your system requirements, the various automation technologies must work together smoothly along with your Supply Chain Execution Software (SCE) and enterprise software. ASAP Automation has years of experience in the design and implementation of Warehouse Control Software (WCS) to control the automation equipment in your distribution center and smoothly integrate with a WMS or ERP.

Host interfaces vary widely between ERP vendors, WMS vendors and homegrown systems. We have successfully integrated the Exacta ® WCS with the Exacta ® Supply Chain Execution software suite as well as other major systems including Manhattan Associates, HighJump, Red Prairie, Oracle and SAP in addition to many custom homegrown systems. Communication protocols supported for integration of the Warehouse Control Software to these other systems include: TCP/ IP, HTTP with XML, SQL Table to Table, MQ Series, MSMQ, FTP, HTTP / HTTPS, ASP, BAPI, Serial, Batch File. Communication with a conveyor system and related I/O (such as scanners, photoeyes, scales) is performed using PLCs or PC based controls such as Steeplechase.
Warehouse Control System Architecture
The modular design of our warehouse control software provides the scalability needed to compete in today’s rapidly changing business environments. ASAP Automation’s warehouse control system designs are based on open, non-proprietary program architecture that can use either PLC or PC based controls. This solution provides flexibility for both support and upgrades.
