Human Machine Interfaces (HMI)

The Human Machine Interface (HMI) is a key component of the scalable suite of monitoring and control solutions offered by ASAP Automation.  An HMI is a graphical monitoring tool used to provide visibility to detailed conveyor status information for system operators and maintenance personnel.  HMIs provide real time statistics to monitor the vital statistics of the automation equipment system.  Typically the interface consists of several detailed layout screens.  The Human Machine Interface can be used to start or stop the system, diagnose any problems, and display system statuses.  Implemented with our Warehouse Control Software (WCS), ASAP’s Human Machine Interface software also logs critical events on the screens.  This permits viewing and assessing long term conditions often helpful with diagnosing intermittent condition problems or operations.

ASAP’s HMIs are designed using an open, non-proprietary system with simple to understand navigation that helps speed HMI development and training time.  The Human Machine Interface screens contain statistical and diagnostic graphics and reports.  The data can be exported as a CSV file for off line evaluation or record keeping.  Additionally the data can be exported to Crystal Reports for custom reporting needs.

Benefits of Human Machine Interface (HMI’s):

  • User friendly and intuitive with color coded graphical interfaces
  • Proactive monitoring using real time data and statistics
  • Open, non proprietary software application
