Project Approach

ASAP Automation uses a combination of project managers, programmers, network specialists and appropriate trades to install projects. A project may include software, hardware, mechanical, and electrical elements.  In order to ensure a smooth installation, ASAP Automation has developed a well-defined methodology of delivery and approval.

Project Management

An ASAP Project Manager is assigned to each project.  ASAP's extensive experience ensures that the customer receives a truly turn-key system.  ASAP recommends that the customer assign a local project manager to ensure an integrated effort in all areas of analysis, review, final design, installation, training, testing, and acceptance.  Our experience with similar projects has shown that customer ownership and involvement are key factors in the successful implementations.

ASAP's Project Management Team has several years of experience in a wide variety of industries to ensure your project is a success.  We utilize extensive check lists and maintain an extremely high level of quality control for each installation.  ASAP prides itself on taking time to make sure the operators are comfortable during the transition period and that business operational requirements are kept foremost in mind.

Functional Specification Documents

An integral part of any project is the development of the Functional Specification Documents (FSDs).  The FSD’s are the result of interactive meetings between the ASAP team and the customer.  They detail the specifics for the software, hardware, and control components to be installed.  The FSD’s serve as a blueprint for the system requirements and describe the functionality and operations.

Customization of Software Modules

While the Exacta® standard modules are highly configurable, we understand that sometimes unique business processes make customizations necessary.  We work to methodically capture requirements and clearly document any customizations required during the Functional Specification development phase.  Typical customizations include order processing logic and automated routing methods.
